White Alder (Alnus rhombifolia)

Fast growing tree is native to streambeds throughout the mountains of the west. A non-leguminous nitrogen -fixing tree they can grow in and improve poor soils. Quickly reach 50 to 90 feet tall with lush shiny green foliage. Wood is good for cabinetry and makes an easy to split clean burning firewood. Zones 4-9.
