Pretty dense rounded evergreen shrub relative of Camellia, grows 4-10 feet tall and wide. Has leathery dark green leaves that contain caffeine and are traditionally used for green and black teas which have healthy minerals and antioxidants. Fragrant white flowers with yellow centers bloom in fall. Likes an acidic soil high in organic matter and can be grown in sun or part shade. Growing branch tips can be harvested, dried and roasted for a delicious stimulating green tea. Can also be grown as a container plant. Zones 7-10.
